Permanent danish border control

On May 11 2011 the Danish Government, the Danish Peoples Party and the Christian Democrats has concluded an agreement on permanent customs border controls in Denmark.

The agreement implies etablishing permanent control facilities at the danish borders, video surveillance and strengthened police cooperation.1)

The Finance Minister says: "We've seen too many examples of violence, burglary and brutal crime committed by criminals who have crossed borders. I am convinced that with a more intense control we can avoid some of that crime and create more security in Denmark."2)

The new danish government will reportedly not etablish the proposed control facilities at the danish borders.3)
